The most common failure in custom tiled showers is omitting the pre-slope. Never trust a liner or a liquid membrane

Before a single tile is laid, plug the drain and fill the shower base with 2 inches of water. Mark the water line on the wall and let it sit for 24 hours. not just the backer board.

Always use the provided with the valve as your guide, but ensure it sits flush with the finished tile surface , not just the backer board.
