Kotoko Iwanaga uses her role as the Goddess of Wisdom to construct a plausible but entirely fabricated story. She aims to convince both the human world and the spirits that Masayuki is innocent, despite the evidence pointing toward him.
The episode highlights the irony that the only person Masayuki can truly trust is a non-human entity (the Yuki-Onna), while his fellow humans—including his ex-wife and former friends—were the ones who ruined his life.
