Hdcam

Launched in 1997, Sony's HDCAM format became the industry standard for high-definition production, utilizing 1/2-inch magnetic tape to record at 1440x1080 resolution. It was famously used by the Sony HDW-F900 camera to shoot Star Wars: Episode II , and was later superseded by the higher-fidelity HDCAM SR format in 2003.
