In 2021 and 2022, the paternity case initiated by Ari Boulogne against Alain Delon centered on a Court of Appeal ruling declaring French courts incompetent due to Delon's Swiss residence, a decision appealed to the Court of Cassation. While the Cour de cassation later established jurisdiction based on Delon's French nationality in 2024, the paternity claim was ultimately rejected in 2025 because it was deemed prescribed.
